Screw in government health insurance scheme

In the General Budget, the Central Government has announced health insurance of upto Rs 5 lakh to the 50 million poor people of the country.
However, a large disadvantaged section of the total population will benefit from the modern medical facility. But due to the lack of expert doctors and surgeons, the doubt on the success of this insurance is deepening. At present, the number of specialist doctors in the proportion of 0.5 percent of the country's poor population is 2.5 million. Let us know that there are only 65 thousand MBBS and 25,000 PG seats in the country. The worst condition is of specialist doctors in diabetes. On the one hand, the country is becoming the capital of the world in terms of diabetes and on the other hand, the number of endocrinologists treating this disease is 42 times less than necessary. In addition to experts, the General Surgeon is also only 18 thousand, while the need is one lakh surgeon.Significantly, after the MBBS, the College of Physicians and Surgeon Course offers an option of specialization. It is a diploma course of two year year. This course is going on in Gujarat and Maharashtra. It is being considered in other states to start it. This course will help in reducing the lack of specialist doctors in the country.
